head of shop operations
Berg Enterprises, based in southeastern Arizona, has built residential and commercial air solutions since 1974. Family-owned and operated, Berg's provides turnkey pipefitting & mechanical (wet-side/dry-side) services, including site-analysis engineering design, installation, program management, and continuing operations in select residential and commercial markets across the Southwestern United States and other federal installations.
We’re currently seeking a Head of Shop Operations to own and manage daily operations across our shop headquarters. This includes but is not limited to, supply chain & inventory, sheet metal fabrication, facility development, training, and safety.
Specifically, we need someone to:
Manage full company supply chain, including purchasing & tracking of supplies, materials, and parts across lines of business.
Continuously conduct make vs. buy analysis related to procurement across the portfolio.
Maintain knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; direct purchasing programs accordingly.
Develop and maintain inventory database (Oracle NetSuite) for supplies and materials.
Negotiate and complete contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
Communicate with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
Oversee facility development and maintenance.
Through subordinate directors, establish fundamental safety and training cultures and programs.
Oversee a subordinate director, responsible for all duct fabrication and sheet metal design.
